Helping women entrepreneurs to identify growth barriers, access capital, connect to resources, and learn through live business case study

Owning the Block: Women Build the Block

Some events celebrate women in business. This one is built to move women-owned businesses forward

On October 20, InvestorFy returns to Aggie Square for a special Owning the Block session recognizing National Women’s Small Business Month—an action-focused evening created for women who are building companies, pursuing growth, navigating difficult decisions, and preparing for their next level

This is not another panel where successful people speak and everyone else goes home inspired but unchanged

This is a working room

Bring one real opportunity your business is pursuing: capital, a storefront, a major customer, a government contract, a new market, additional staff, international expansion, commercial ownership, or the next stage of growth

Together, we will help you answer the questions that determine whether that opportunity moves forward:

What is the real obstacle?
What must happen first?
What information or preparation is missing?
Who is the right resource—not merely another resource?
What action can you complete within seven days?

Owning the Block is built around a practical five-step method:

Identify the opportunity. Diagnose the blocker. Sequence the work. Route to the right resource. Take action.

The evening will also feature a live business case study examining how a woman-led company grew from an idea into international markets. Rather than presenting a polished success story after every problem has been solved, we will examine the actual decisions behind growth: building capacity, understanding financial readiness, entering new markets, evaluating risk, finding the right partners, and knowing when an opportunity is real—and when the business is not ready yet

You will not simply hear what another entrepreneur accomplished. You will use her experience to examine your own business more clearly

The session will be co-hosted by Jamie Ganly and will feature a speaker from the Women’s Business Center at California Capital, connecting the conversation to practical business education, counseling, technical assistance, and pathways for continued support

Women are at the center of this evening. Everyone committed to their success belongs in the room

Men are encouraged to attend—not as spectators, but as customers, partners, mentors, buyers, lenders, employers, family members, advocates, and community leaders. When women-owned businesses grow, they create jobs, strengthen families, expand local supply chains, activate commercial corridors, and build stronger communities

This event is for:

  • Women business owners ready to grow or make a major decision
  • Aspiring entrepreneurs trying to determine the correct first step
  • Founders pursuing capital, contracts, customers, space, or new markets
  • Professionals and institutions committed to supporting women-owned businesses
  • Men who actively invest in, purchase from, mentor, hire, partner with, and advocate for women entrepreneurs
  • Anyone who believes business ownership should create opportunity beyond the individual owner

Do not come merely to collect business cards

Come with a decision. Come with an opportunity. Come prepared to identify what is standing between your business and its next move

Leave with greater clarity, the right resource path, and a specific action to take

The opportunity may already be in front of you. Owning the Block will help you become ready to claim it
